Job Overview
Arup Urban Solutions is seeking a visionary Sustainable Urban Mobility Planner to lead the development of integrated transport solutions in Mamfe. This role will focus on designing pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, optimizing public transit routes, and implementing climate-resilient mobility systems. The ideal candidate will bridge technical expertise with community engagement to create transformative urban mobility frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sustainable urban mobility strategies aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Conduct traffic flow analysis and model future transportation scenarios
- Collaborate with municipal authorities to integrate smart mobility technologies
- Develop accessibility plans for underserved communities
- Prepare feasibility studies for public transit expansion projects
- Monitor and evaluate the environmental impact of mobility solutions
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS and transportation modeling software (e.g., PTV Visum)
- Experience with urban mobility policy frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and community consultation skills
- Knowledge of climate adaptation strategies for transportation
- Fluency in French and English
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
Education
Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Professional certification in Sustainable Mobility Planning is a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in urban mobility planning, with at least one completed project in Sub-Saharan Africa. Experience with smart city technologies and sustainable infrastructure development is required.
Salary
500,000 – 700,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
