Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Agronomic Research Scientist to join our team in Garoua, Cameroon. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural practices and technologies, focusing on crop improvement, soil health, and integrated pest management. This role involves conducting field and laboratory research, analyzing data, and collaborating with other researchers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage field and laboratory experiments to evaluate crop performance, soil health, and pest management strategies
- Collect and analyze data on crop yields, soil characteristics, and pest populations
- Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for major crops
- Collaborate with other researchers, extension agents, and farmers to promote the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in agronomic research, preferably in a tropical environment
- Strong knowledge of crop improvement, soil health, and integrated pest management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Education
A Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related field is required. A Ph.D. is desirable.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in agronomic research, preferably in a tropical environment, is required.
Salary
The salary range for this position is 500,000 – 800,000 SSP per month.
