Financial Accountant – Telecom Operations
Job Description
MTN Cameroon is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to manage accounting operations and financial reporting for its Garoua regional office. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial records, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support the organization’s financial planning and decision-making processes.
The Senior Financial Accountant will collaborate with finance managers, auditors, and operational teams to ensure transparency in financial reporting and effective management of financial resources. This role requires a professional with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data to support strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and journal entries
Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Support budget preparation and financial forecasting activities
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements
Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting
Assist in internal and external audit processes
Monitor cash flow management and financial transactions
Implement and maintain internal financial controls
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and IFRS standards
Experience using ERP accounting systems and financial software
Excellent financial analysis and reporting abilities
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to interpret financial data and performance metrics
