Job Overview
The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and execution of major construction projects in the Bamenda region. Reporting to the Project Director, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, oversee junior engineers, and ensure that all structural solutions meet rigorous safety, quality, and sustainability standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for large‑scale infrastructure projects, including bridges, tunnels, and high‑rise buildings.
- Develop detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications using industry‑standard software such as SAP2000, ETABS, and Revit.
- Coordinate with architects, geotechnical engineers, and construction teams to integrate structural solutions seamlessly.
- Conduct site inspections and supervise construction activities to verify compliance with design intent and safety regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge transfer.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and value‑engineering proposals to optimize project budgets.
- Ensure all designs adhere to local building codes, international standards, and Bouygues Construction’s quality protocols.
- Participate in client meetings, presenting design concepts and addressing technical queries.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Revit).
- Strong understanding of concrete, steel, and composite material behavior.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and mentor staff.
- Knowledge of Cameroonian building regulations and international codes (Eurocode, ACI).
- Project management competence, including scheduling and cost control.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional engineering license (PE) is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget. Experience in the African construction market, particularly in Cameroon, is a strong plus.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 1,200,000 to 1,800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
