Job Overview

The Policy Analyst will support UNDP Cameroon’s mission by conducting rigorous research, drafting policy briefs, and advising government stakeholders on evidence‑based solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth policy research and analysis on topics such as governance, economic development, and social inclusion.
• Prepare policy briefs, white papers, and recommendation reports for government ministries and development partners.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and round‑table discussions to gather input and build consensus on policy initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of policy reforms, providing data‑driven insights to improve program outcomes.
• Collaborate with UNDP program teams to integrate policy recommendations into project design and execution.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of national legislation, international standards, and emerging trends relevant to Cameroon’s development agenda.
• Support the preparation of donor proposals and progress reports, ensuring alignment with UNDP’s strategic objectives.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
• Proficiency in policy analysis tools, statistical software (e.g., STATA, SPSS) and data visualization platforms.
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of Cameroon’s public sector structure, legal framework, and development challenges.

Education

A Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, International Development, or a closely related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications in project management, data analysis, or public administration are highly regarded.

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of three to five years of professional experience in policy analysis, government advisory roles, or research institutions. Experience working with international development agencies, NGOs, or think‑tanks in Cameroon or the broader Central African region is advantageous.

Salary
