Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Douala. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality software modules using modern programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define software requirements and specifications.
- Conduct thorough unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure software reliability and performance.
- Optimize existing software code to improve efficiency, scalability, and resource utilization.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Document software designs, architecture, and API specifications for internal and external use.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects in both development and production environments.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Python, C/C++, Java, or Go).
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.) and software-defined networking concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field is required. Candidates with a Master’s degree or equivalent professional certifications in software development will be given preference.
Experience
Applicants should possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in software development, preferably within the networking or telecommunications industry. Proven experience in working within an Agile/Scrum development lifecycle is highly desirable. We are looking for individuals who have a track record of delivering robust software products in a professional setting.
Salary
