Job Overview
This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote public health. The position is based in Nkongsamba, a key hub for water resource management in Cameroon’s Adamawa Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the construction of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment facilities.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new water treatment projects.
- Collaborate with local governments and stakeholders to develop sustainable water solutions.
- Monitor and optimize treatment processes to meet regulatory and environmental standards.
- Provide technical support for maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment technologies and environmental engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for system design.
- Experience with water quality analysis and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management capabilities.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French (preferred).
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or Water Resource Management (advantageous).
Experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in water treatment engineering or environmental consulting.
- Proven track record in managing end-to-end wastewater projects in developing regions.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
