Job Overview

The Sustainability Compliance Officer will lead the implementation and monitoring of environmental compliance programs across Unilever Cameroon’s manufacturing sites and supply chain operations in Kribi. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance frameworks aligned with Cameroonian laws and Unilever’s global standards.
• Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Lead corrective action plans, track progress, and ensure timely resolution of non‑conformities.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, and R&D teams to embed sustainability criteria into product design and sourcing.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water usage.
• Provide training and awareness programs for employees on environmental policies and best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements in sustainability.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Cameroonian environmental legislation and international sustainability standards (ISO 14001, GRI, CDP).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in audit tools, reporting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional projects.
• Fluency in French and English.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor are advantageous.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in environmental compliance, sustainability reporting, or related roles within the manufacturing sector. Experience in a multinational corporation is preferred.
