Job Overview
The Senior Logistics Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing complex freight movements and optimizing supply chain workflows within the Northern region of Cameroon. This role is critical for ensuring that goods move efficiently from origin to destination, minimizing delays and maximizing cost-effectiveness. You will act as a central point of contact for various stakeholders, including carriers, customs agents, and warehouse managers. This position requires a deep understanding of international shipping regulations, multimodal transport, and inventory management. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee complex international shipments, ensuring compliance with all local and international maritime laws.
- Optimize transport routes and schedules to reduce transit times and operational costs.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance processes.
- Monitor shipment tracking data and provide real-time updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Resolve discrepancies in shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists.
- Analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for process improvement and cost savings.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Logistics Management Systems (LMS) and ERP software.
- In-depth knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and international trade regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to act decisively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills in English and French to facilitate regional coordination.
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail in documentation and data management.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certifications such as CILT or APICS are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in international logistics or freight forwarding, preferably within a large-scale multinational environment. Proven experience in managing multimodal transport (sea, road, and rail) is essential for success in this role.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 450,000 SSP to 750,000 SSP, depending on experience and performance metrics.
