Job Overview
The Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting on the performance of oil and gas projects in the Maroua region. The role involves developing cost estimates, schedules, and risk analyses to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the engineer will implement robust control systems, generate performance dashboards, and provide actionable insights to senior management. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Prepare cost forecasts, budget updates, and variance analyses on a monthly basis.
- Implement earned value management (EVM) techniques to track project performance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, providing mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Generate comprehensive progress reports and dashboards for senior leadership.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to ensure alignment of scope, schedule, and cost.
- Support contract administration and change order management.
- Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies’ health, safety, and environmental standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Knowledge of oil and gas industry standards and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams.
- Fluency in English; French is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum, or related fields) is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or equivalent are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
Experience
Applicants must have 5‑7 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or schedule management within the oil and gas sector. Experience on large‑scale upstream or midstream projects in Africa is a strong plus, reflecting the unique challenges of working in Cameroon’s energy landscape.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 4,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
