Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine manufacturing processes for vehicle assembly and component fabrication.
- Conduct time‑studies, capacity analysis, and workflow assessments to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Implement lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events to reduce waste and enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with quality assurance, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), defect rates, and cycle times.
- Lead pilot runs for new vehicle models, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to full‑scale production.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to production staff and junior engineers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to cost‑reduction projects.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the manufacturing floor.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, including stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a data‑driven mindset.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production schedules.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on team development and mentorship.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in automotive or high‑volume manufacturing environments, with a proven track record of process optimization and lean implementation.
