Job Overview

The Curriculum Development Specialist will lead the design, development, and localization of curriculum frameworks for K‑12 and vocational programs. This role requires a strategic mindset to align content with national standards while integrating Pearson’s global best practices. You will work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and local education authorities to ensure that all learning materials are pedagogically sound, culturally appropriate, and technologically enabled.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop curriculum maps, lesson plans, and assessment tools for primary and secondary education.
• Collaborate with local teachers and ministry officials to align content with Cameroon’s national education standards.
• Localize Pearson’s global educational resources, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Conduct needs analyses and gap assessments to identify priority areas for curriculum enhancement.
• Lead pilot testing of new curricula in selected schools and gather feedback for iterative improvement.
• Provide training and support to educators on effective implementation of new curriculum materials.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes, version control, and compliance records.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in curriculum design, instructional theory, and assessment strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
• Proficiency with e‑learning authoring tools and learning management systems.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with international and local teams.

Education

A Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Studies, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in project management or e‑learning development will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants must have at least five years of proven experience in curriculum development, preferably within the African education sector. Experience working with multinational educational publishers or NGOs is highly desirable.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 800,000 to 1,200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary is paid monthly and includes statutory benefits as per Cameroonian labor law.
