Job Overview
The Railway Logistics Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing the end‑to‑end rail freight operations that connect Maersk’s maritime services with inland distribution networks. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate train schedules, oversee cargo loading and unloading, and ensure compliance with national and international transport regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and monitor rail shipments to ensure timely delivery of cargo across national and cross‑border routes.
- Coordinate with port operations, warehouses, and inland transport providers to synchronize multimodal movements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including waybills, customs declarations, and safety reports.
- Monitor rail asset utilization, track performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Cameroonian railway regulations, safety standards, and international trade requirements.
- Resolve operational disruptions, such as delays or equipment failures, by liaising with rail operators and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare regular operational reports for senior management and contribute to strategic planning sessions.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of rail freight operations, intermodal logistics, and supply‑chain principles.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for dealing with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or International Railway Operations certification are advantageous.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics, with at least two (2) years focused on rail or multimodal transport. Demonstrated experience in coordinating large‑scale freight movements and managing stakeholder relationships is essential.
