Job Overview

The Hydrogen Project Development Manager will lead the end‑to‑end development of hydrogen projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning and commercial operation. Reporting to the Regional Director of Energy Solutions, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, government agencies, and strategic partners to design, finance, and implement projects that support Cameroon’s clean‑energy goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market analysis and feasibility studies for hydrogen production and distribution projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Secure project financing through partnerships with banks, investors, and development agencies.
  • Coordinate permitting processes with local and national regulatory bodies.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations.
  • Monitor project performance, manage risks, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Represent Air Liquide at industry conferences, stakeholder meetings, and public forums.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and external partners.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proven experience in renewable energy project finance and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of hydrogen technologies, safety protocols, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to dynamic conditions.

Education

A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Renewable Energy (e.g., IEA) are highly valued.

Experience

Minimum eight years of experience in large‑scale renewable energy projects, with at least three years focused on hydrogen or related clean‑fuel initiatives. Prior experience in emerging markets, especially within Africa, is advantageous.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and long‑term incentive plans are also part of the total rewards.
