Job Overview

The Sustainability Compliance Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Schneider Electric’s operations and projects in Cameroon adhere to local and international environmental regulations, standards, and best practices. This position involves monitoring compliance, conducting audits, preparing reports, and advising project teams on sustainability requirements. The analyst will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and legal, to embed compliance into every stage of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret national environmental laws, regulations, and international standards applicable to Schneider Electric’s activities in Cameroon.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits of projects, facilities, and supply chain partners to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports, sustainability metrics, and dashboards for senior management and external regulators.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to integrate environmental compliance requirements into design, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal sustainability policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Engage with government agencies, NGOs, and community representatives to facilitate transparent communication and address environmental concerns.
  • Assist in the preparation of sustainability disclosures for corporate reporting, including ESG and CSR reports.
  • Stay abreast of emerging sustainability trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve Schneider Electric’s environmental performance.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Cameroonian environmental legislation and international sustainability standards (ISO 14001, GRI, SASB).
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in preparing clear, concise compliance documentation and reports.
  • Effective communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience using compliance management software and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor are considered an advantage.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability reporting, or related roles within the energy, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors. Experience in the African market, particularly Cameroon, is highly valued.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of 1,200,000 SSP to 1,800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and benefits are part of the total compensation package.
