Job Overview

The Environmental Compliance Analyst will support TotalEnergies’ environmental management system in Douala, ensuring that all operations adhere to Cameroonian environmental legislation and international standards such as ISO 14001. The role involves conducting site assessments, preparing compliance reports, and liaising with regulatory authorities. The analyst will also contribute to the development of mitigation strategies, monitor environmental performance indicators, and support internal audits. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections across operational sites.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development.
• Monitor emissions, waste management, and water usage against regulatory thresholds.
• Identify non‑conformities and develop corrective action plans in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Support the preparation of environmental impact assessments for new projects.
• Maintain the environmental management database and ensure data integrity.
• Participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings to discuss compliance status.
• Stay updated on changes to Cameroonian environmental laws and international best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Cameroonian environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards.

• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or a Master’s degree are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of proven experience in environmental compliance, preferably within the oil and gas or energy sector. Experience conducting audits, managing permits, and interacting with government agencies in Cameroon is highly valued.
