Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with financial targets.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to optimize costs.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, identify potential cost overruns, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management for decision-making.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve technical and financial challenges.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD).
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and local building codes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management. Professional certifications such asRICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) are an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years in quantity surveying roles, preferably in infrastructure or commercial construction projects.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 XAF per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
