Job Overview

The Construction Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and supervising construction projects that align with LafargeHolcim’s strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
• Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, procurement, and site teams to ensure alignment with project specifications.
• Monitor progress, conduct site inspections, and enforce quality control and safety standards.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve technical issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Cameroonian construction codes, environmental regulations, and corporate policies.
• Manage subcontractor performance, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement of materials.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management tools.
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Primavera.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Leadership qualities with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or a Master’s degree are considered an asset and demonstrate a commitment to professional development.

Experience

Candidates must have at least five years of hands‑on experience managing construction projects of medium to large scale, preferably within the cement, concrete, or broader construction industry. Experience in the Cameroonian market or similar emerging economies is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 1,500,000 to 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and contributions to retirement savings.
