WWF-Cameroon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Conservation Specialist to join our team in Maroua. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing conservation projects, conducting research, and collaborating with local communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable land use practices.

Job Overview

The Environmental Conservation Specialist will play a key role in implementing WWF-Cameroon’s conservation strategy in the Far North Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, monitoring conservation projects, and collaborating with local communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable land use practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement conservation projects in the Far North Region, including conducting research, monitoring project progress, and collaborating with local communities and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners to promote sustainable land use practices.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform conservation project design and implementation.
• Collaborate with WWF-Cameroon’s conservation team to develop and implement conservation strategies.
• Develop and manage project budgets, reports, and other documentation.

Required Skills

• At least 3 years of experience in environmental conservation, preferably in Cameroon.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of conservation principles, practices, and policies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Experience

At least 3 years of experience in environmental conservation, preferably in Cameroon.
