Job Overview
This role is ideal for professionals passionate about blending marketing expertise with cultural advocacy. The Cultural Tourism Marketing Specialist will design and execute campaigns to promote Mbandjock’s unique cultural heritage, including its traditional festivals, artisanal crafts, and historical landmarks. The position emphasizes partnerships with local communities, travel agencies, and international tourism boards to boost visitor numbers while ensuring ethical tourism practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote cultural tourism in Mbandjock.
- Collaborate with local artisans, cultural leaders, and tourism stakeholders to create authentic visitor experiences.
- Manage social media, content creation, and digital campaigns targeting international and domestic tourists.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in cultural tourism.
- Organize and publicize cultural events, workshops, and heritage tours.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in tourism marketing or cultural promotion.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing tools (SEO, Google Analytics, social media platforms).
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Creative content development for print, digital, and video formats.
- Knowledge of Cameroon’s cultural heritage and tourism regulations.
- Proficiency in French and English; additional local languages (e.g., Ewondo) is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Tourism, Cultural Studies, or related field.
- Advanced certification in digital marketing or cultural heritage management is advantageous.
Experience
- 3-5 years in tourism marketing, event management, or cultural promotion.
- Experience working with government or non-profit tourism organizations.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 FCFA annually, commensurate with experience.
