Job Overview

The AI Ethics Lead will spearhead the development and implementation of ethical frameworks, policies, and governance structures for artificial intelligence initiatives across Microsoft Cameroon. Reporting to the Head of Responsible AI, the incumbent will work closely with product teams, legal counsel, and external stakeholders to ensure that AI solutions are transparent, fair, and aligned with local regulations and cultural values. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive AI ethics guidelines tailored to the Cameroonian context.
• Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses for AI projects, identifying potential biases and ethical concerns.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle.
• Lead internal training sessions and workshops on responsible AI practices.
• Engage with regulators, NGOs, and academic experts to stay abreast of emerging AI regulations and standards.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for senior leadership and external auditors.
• Monitor compliance with AI ethics policies and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Required Skills

• Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, and data analytics.
• Strong knowledge of ethical frameworks, privacy laws, and AI governance standards.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.

Education

A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Ethics, Law, Philosophy, Public Policy, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in AI ethics, data privacy, or responsible AI are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years of professional experience in AI ethics, policy development, compliance, or a related field. Prior experience within a technology company or a consultancy focused on AI governance is preferred.

Salary
