Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Safety Officer to join our operations in Mamfe. This role is critical to ensuring that all manufacturing and assembly processes comply with international safety standards and local regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing preventive measures to protect our workforce and assets. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential safety hazards and non-compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for all factory personnel.
  • Investigate all workplace accidents or near-miss incidents and provide detailed reports with corrective actions.
  • Ensure all heavy machinery and equipment undergo regular safety audits and maintenance checks.
  • Collaborate with department heads to integrate safety protocols into daily operational workflows.
  • Monitor compliance with local environmental and occupational health regulations in Cameroon.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to mitigate industrial risks.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French to facilitate training.
  • Proficiency in conducting technical risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Ability to manage emergency response procedures and crisis management protocols.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field is mandatory. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly preferred and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in managing safety protocols in heavy machinery sectors is essential for success in this role.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 450,000 SSP to 750,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise. This package is competitive within the local market and reflects the critical nature of the role.
