Job Overview:As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist with The Nature Conservancy, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges in Cameroon. You will work closely with our team to design and implement projects that promote sustainable land use, reduce deforestation, and protect biodiversity. You will also collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to build support for our conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sustainable land use plans for communities and industries
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with local communities and government agencies to build support for conservation efforts
- Design and implement projects to reduce deforestation and promote sustainable forest management
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conservation projects
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in environmental sustainability or a related field
- Strong understanding of environmental conservation principles and practices
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Education:We are looking for a candidate with a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field is an asset.
Experience:We are looking for a candidate with 5-7 years of experience in environmental sustainability or a related field. Experience working in a developing country or with local communities is an asset.
Salary:The salary for this position is 250,000 – 350,000 SSP per year, depending on experience.
