Job Overview

The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating the end‑to‑end production schedule, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, and aligning manufacturing output with market demand. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed weekly and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components, minimizing stock‑outs and excess inventory.
  • Monitor shop floor performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate variance reports for senior management.
  • Adjust production plans proactively in response to equipment downtime, labor availability, or changes in demand.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to integrate quality checkpoints into the production flow, ensuring compliance with Toyota’s stringent standards.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional meetings to align objectives, resolve bottlenecks, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Utilize ERP and advanced planning software to optimize resource allocation and improve forecast accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data interpretation and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Just‑In‑Time (JIT) principles, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications such as APICS CPIM or Six Sigma Green Belt will be given preference.

Experience
