Job Overview
The Water Resource Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and monitoring water resource projects in Nkongsamba. This position requires collaboration with stakeholders, including local authorities, NGOs, and international partners, to ensure sustainable water distribution, pollution prevention, and climate resilience. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct hydrological assessments and water quality analyses to identify regional challenges.
- Develop and execute water resource management plans aligned with national and international sustainability goals.
- Coordinate with local communities to implement rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and wastewater treatment initiatives.
- Monitor and report on the environmental impact of water projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Provide technical expertise for drought mitigation and flood control strategies in vulnerable regions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in water resource management, environmental engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and project evaluation.
- Knowledge of Cameroonian water policies and international environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and hydrological modeling software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Water Resource Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Master’s Degree preferred, with a focus on sustainable development or environmental policy.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in water resource management, environmental consulting, or project coordination roles.
- Experience working in rural or semi-urban Cameroonian contexts is a significant advantage.
Salary
1,500,000 – 2,500,000 XAF per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
