Job Overview

The Senior Petroleum Geophysicist will play a critical role in our exploration and development strategy. This position involves interpreting complex seismic data to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs and assessing the geological risks associated with drilling operations. You will work closely with our reservoir engineers and drilling teams to optimize well placement and maximize production efficiency. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of subsurface imaging, seismic processing, and structural geology. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to create detailed geological models of subsurface structures.

• Assess geological risks and provide technical recommendations for drilling locations.

• Expert knowledge of seismic processing techniques and signal processing.

• Ability to interpret complex structural and stratigraphic geological features.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills for reporting.
• Strong project management and leadership abilities.

Education

A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level position.

Experience

Candidates must possess between 7 to 10 years of direct experience in petroleum geophysics, specifically within offshore exploration environments. Proven track record of successful reservoir identification and seismic interpretation in complex geological settings is essential. Experience working in the African energy sector is a significant advantage.

Salary

The monthly salary for this position ranges from 850,000 SSP to 1,200,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise. This package is competitive within the local market for specialized engineering roles.
