Job Overview

The Senior Audit Associate will join KPMG Cameroon’s Audit department in Abong‑Mbang, supporting a portfolio of clients ranging from large multinational enterprises to dynamic local SMEs. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute audit engagements from inception to completion, including risk assessment, materiality determination and substantive testing.
• Prepare audit workpapers, documentation and reports that meet KPMG quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to client management and senior audit team members.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to gather financial data, assess internal controls and evaluate compliance with applicable laws.
• Assist in the development of audit strategies tailored to specific industry risks and client business models.
• Mentor junior staff, review their work and provide constructive feedback to foster professional growth.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax regulations and industry best practices to ensure audit relevance.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Proficiency in audit software tools such as KPMG Clara, CaseWare or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates should have 3‑5 years of relevant audit experience, preferably within a Big Four or reputable regional audit firm. Experience auditing clients in sectors such as banking, manufacturing, energy, telecommunications or public administration will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 800,000 to 1,200,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications and performance. Salary is reviewed annually and includes performance‑based incentives.
