Job Overview

The Risk Management Analyst will play a pivotal role in strengthening Ecobank’s risk governance framework. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the analyst will assess credit, market, and operational risks associated with the bank’s portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments for loan proposals, trade finance, and treasury products.
  • Develop and maintain risk rating models, stress‑testing scenarios, and risk dashboards.
  • Monitor daily risk indicators, flag deviations, and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Prepare risk reports for senior management, regulators, and audit committees.
  • Collaborate with credit officers to ensure adherence to underwriting standards.
  • Assist in the development of risk policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Participate in internal and external audit reviews, providing necessary data and explanations.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with proficiency in Excel, VBA, and risk‑modeling software.
  • Knowledge of Basel III, CAMCAR, and local banking regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants should have 2‑4 years of relevant experience in risk analysis, credit risk assessment, or a similar role within a banking or financial services environment. Experience with risk‑rating models, credit underwriting, or regulatory reporting will be viewed favorably.
