Job Overview
The Regional Data Privacy Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of data protection strategies across Orange Cameroon’s operations in Central Africa. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the incumbent will ensure compliance with the African Union’s Data Protection Regulation, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable, and local Cameroonian privacy laws. The role involves close collaboration with IT, legal, marketing, and product teams to embed privacy by design into all services. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive data privacy framework aligned with regional and international regulations.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new products, services, and major system changes.
- Lead privacy training programs for employees, contractors, and partners.
- Serve as the main liaison with the Cameroonian data protection authority and other regulatory bodies.
- Monitor and audit data processing activities to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
- Respond to data subject access requests, complaints, and breach notifications within statutory timelines.
- Collaborate with the IT security team to implement technical safeguards such as encryption, pseudonymization, and access controls.
- Prepare and present regular compliance reports to senior management and the board.

Required Skills

Experience
Applicants must have 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security roles, preferably within the telecommunications or technology sector.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and benefits are included.
