Job Overview

The Network Deployment Engineer will lead the planning, design, and implementation of radio access network (RAN) projects in the Far North region, with a primary focus on Kousseri and surrounding areas. The role involves coordinating with cross‑functional teams, managing site acquisition, overseeing civil works, and ensuring that all network elements are installed to meet performance standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end deployment of 4G/5G sites, from site survey to commissioning.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Coordinate civil, electrical, and mechanical works with contractors and local authorities.
  • Perform RF optimization and drive testing to validate network performance.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring delivery of equipment and services on time.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and MTN policies.
  • Prepare technical documentation, as‑built drawings, and handover reports.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of LTE/5G radio access technologies and network architecture.
  • Proficiency in RF planning tools such as Atoll, Planet, or iBwave.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills in French and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Cameroonian telecom regulations and site acquisition processes.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with leadership capabilities.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in RF engineering, project management (PMP), or relevant vendor trainings (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson) are considered a strong advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in telecom network deployment, preferably within West or Central Africa. Proven track record of delivering large‑scale RAN projects on schedule and within budget is essential.

Salary
