Job Overview

We are currently seeking a highly qualified Epidemiologist for a critical role based in Yaoundé. Key Responsibilities

• Provide regular epidemiological reports and briefs to the medical coordination team and external partners to guide decision-making.
• Investigate suspected disease outbreaks and coordinate rapid response measures with local health authorities.
• Train and mentor medical and community health staff on data collection tools, case definitions, and reporting protocols.
• Ensure high data quality and compliance with ethical standards in all research and surveillance activities.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in epidemiological analysis software such as Epi Info, SPSS, Stata, or R.
• Strong understanding of infectious disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and survey methodologies.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable medical strategies.
• Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, is highly desirable for effective coordination.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing security and environmental conditions.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse multicultural teams.

Education

Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related scientific discipline from a recognized institution.

Experience

A minimum of five years of professional experience in field epidemiology is required, preferably within an international humanitarian organization.
