Job Overview

The Agricultural Technology Innovation Manager will lead the design, development, and deployment of digital agriculture solutions that empower smallholder farmers in Cameroon. Reporting to the Head of R&D, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including agronomists, data scientists, and field extension officers, to create scalable platforms for precision farming, climate‑smart agriculture, and market linkage. Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and launch innovative agritech products, such as mobile advisory apps, IoT sensor networks, and data analytics dashboards tailored to Cameroonian farming contexts.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from ideation through pilot testing, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and local farmer needs.
• Conduct market research and stakeholder interviews to identify gaps, validate solutions, and refine product roadmaps.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent innovation projects.
• Collaborate with government ministries, NGOs, and research institutions to secure partnerships and funding for large‑scale deployments.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of deployed technologies on yield, income, and environmental sustainability, producing detailed reports for senior leadership.
• Represent Syngenta at industry conferences, webinars, and trade fairs to showcase Cameroon’s agritech advancements.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of agricultural practices in Cameroon and the broader Central African region.
• Proficiency in digital technologies such as GIS, remote sensing, mobile app development, and data analytics.
• Excellent project management abilities, with a track record of delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives on time and within budget.
• Effective communication and presentation skills in both English and French.
• Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and navigate diverse stakeholder environments.

Education

A Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology, Agronomy, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or data science are highly valued.

Experience

Minimum of five years of experience in agritech product development, research and development, or agricultural extension services. Prior experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing budgets of at least SSP 1,000,000 is essential.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive annual salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and profit‑sharing options are also available.
