Job Overview

The Senior Mine Safety Engineer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive safety programs across Glencore’s Garoua mining operations. Reporting to the Head of Safety, the incumbent will ensure compliance with international safety standards, Cameroonian regulations, and Glencore’s internal policies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and enforce comprehensive mine safety policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential threats.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate safety training programs, drills, and emergency response simulations for all site personnel.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety considerations into project design and execution.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Cameroonian mining regulations and international best practices.
• Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management and external regulators.
