Job Overview

The Construction Project Manager will lead the planning, execution and delivery of multi‑million‑dollar infrastructure projects in the West Region of Cameroon. Reporting to the Regional Director of Projects, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
  • Lead on‑site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors and local authorities to obtain permits and approvals.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiations and supplier performance.
  • Ensure effective communication among all project participants, fostering collaboration and problem‑solving.
  • Oversee project close‑out activities, including final inspections, documentation and handover to clients.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
  • Solid understanding of local construction regulations and labor laws.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Fluent in French and English; knowledge of local dialects is an advantage.
  • Commitment to health, safety and environmental best practices.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates holding a Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or a recognized construction safety credential will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of proven experience managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably within the African market. Experience with public‑private partnership models, infrastructure financing and multi‑stakeholder environments is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 4,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances for housing, transport and health insurance are included.
