Job Overview

The Solar Power Systems Sales Engineer will spearhead the promotion and sale of Schneider Electric’s solar energy products and services throughout the West Region of Cameroon. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the incumbent will identify market opportunities, develop tailored proposals, and close deals that accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies. This position plays a pivotal role in expanding Schneider Electric’s footprint in the renewable energy market, supporting national goals for increased solar capacity, and delivering superior customer experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities in the solar power sector across Bafoussam and surrounding regions.
  • Develop and present customized solar solutions that meet client energy needs, budget constraints, and sustainability goals.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure profitable deals while ensuring compliance with Schneider Electric standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure seamless project delivery from proposal to commissioning.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline in the CRM system, providing accurate forecasts and regular sales reports.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting renewable energy in Cameroon.
  • Represent Schneider Electric at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of solar photovoltaic technologies, grid‑connected and off‑grid systems.
  • Proven sales track record in renewable energy or related technical fields.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with fluency in French and English.
  • Negotiation and contract management expertise.
  • Analytical mindset to assess client requirements and develop cost‑effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in solar design (e.g., NABCEP) or sales (e.g., Certified Professional Sales Person) are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of experience in solar energy sales, power systems engineering, or a comparable technical sales role. Experience within the Cameroonian market or broader Central African region is highly valued.
