Job Overview

Planet Labs Cameroon is seeking a skilled Geospatial Data Analyst to join our team in Bafang. This role will focus on analyzing satellite imagery and geospatial data to support environmental monitoring initiatives, including deforestation tracking, land use analysis, and climate resilience projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze satellite imagery and geospatial datasets to identify environmental trends and patterns.
  • Develop maps, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with local communities and government agencies to support conservation and land management projects.
  • Integrate remote sensing data with ground-based observations for comprehensive environmental assessments.
  • Provide technical support for geospatial software tools and platforms.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools (ENVI, Google Earth Engine).
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Strong understanding of environmental monitoring methodologies and climate change indicators.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Geospatial Technology, or related field.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s) preferred but not required.

Experience

Salary
