Job Overview

The Agricultural Sustainability Manager will lead CDC’s sustainability agenda across its plantation portfolio in the Northwest Region. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive agricultural sustainability strategy covering soil health, water management, biodiversity, and carbon footprint reduction.
• Lead cross‑functional sustainability projects, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor, measure, and report key sustainability metrics using GIS, remote sensing, and farm management software.
• Collaborate with research institutions to pilot climate‑smart technologies such as precision irrigation, cover cropping, and bio‑fertilizers.
• Engage local farming communities, providing training and capacity‑building programs that promote sustainable practices.
• Prepare annual sustainability reports for internal leadership, investors, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with national environmental regulations and international certification schemes (e.g., Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade).
• Identify funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals to support sustainability initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of sustainable agriculture principles, climate‑smart farming, and environmental impact assessment.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools, GIS, and farm management information systems.
• Excellent project management abilities with a track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget.

Education

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in agricultural management, sustainability program leadership, or related roles within large‑scale farming operations. Experience working in Cameroon or similar West African contexts is preferred.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of 1,200,000 – 1,800,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
