Job Overview
The Tax Consultant role is critical to our advisory services division. You will be responsible for assisting clients with complex tax compliance, planning, and advisory services. This role requires a deep understanding of local and international tax laws and the ability to translate these complexities into actionable business strategies. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving and working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. You will work closely with senior partners to ensure that our clients remain compliant with all regulatory requirements while optimizing their tax positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical tax advice to clients regarding local and international tax regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of complex tax returns and compliance documentation.
- Conduct research on emerging tax laws and their potential impact on client operations.
- Collaborate with the audit and consulting teams to provide integrated business solutions.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities for clients through thorough financial analysis.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation in the CEMAC region.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and tax software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
- Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Deep understanding of OHADA accounting standards.
Education
A Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification (such as ACCA or CPA) is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of direct experience in tax advisory or corporate tax within a reputable professional services firm or a large multinational corporation. Proven experience in handling tax audits and compliance for diverse industries is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 450,000 SSP to 850,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and performance during the interview process.
