Job Overview
The Construction Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects in the West Region of Cameroon. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, ensure compliance with local regulations, and maintain high standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for construction initiatives.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, architects, subcontractors, and local authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Cameroonian building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and client stakeholders.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and timely delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and quality audits to guarantee workmanship meets Bouygues standards.
- Foster strong relationships with local communities, government agencies, and suppliers.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- In‑depth knowledge of construction methods, civil engineering principles, and local regulations.
- Analytical problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
- Fluency in French and English; knowledge of local dialects is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or a Master’s degree are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years managing large‑scale construction projects, preferably within the African market. Experience with infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, hospitals, or commercial complexes is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 1,200,000 to 1,800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances are included.
