Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Energy Solutions Sales Engineer to join our Bafoussam office. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting Schneider Electric’s renewable energy and power management portfolio to industrial, commercial, and institutional clients. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure seamless project delivery from proposal to commissioning. Candidates will be expected to stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, positioning Schneider Electric as the preferred partner for clean energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities in the renewable energy sector across the West Region of Cameroon.
- Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals that align with client requirements and Schneider Electric’s value proposition.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and ROI analyses to demonstrate the benefits of energy‑efficient solutions.
- Negotiate contracts, close sales, and achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Collaborate with engineering and project delivery teams to ensure accurate scope definition, design validation, and timely implementation.
- Maintain a robust pipeline in the CRM system, providing regular forecasts and progress reports to senior management.
- Represent Schneider Electric at industry conferences, trade shows, and client workshops to enhance brand visibility.
- Stay updated on local regulations, incentives, and financing mechanisms related to renewable energy projects.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of solar PV, energy storage, and grid‑integration technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with fluency in French and English.
- Proven sales negotiation skills and a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to perform financial modeling and cost‑benefit analysis.
- Customer‑focused attitude and ability to build long‑term relationships.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the region.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in solar design (e.g., NABCEP) or sales (e.g., Certified Professional Sales Person) are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in sales engineering, business development, or project consulting within the renewable energy or power solutions industry. Experience working with multinational corporations or in the African market is highly valued.
