Job Overview
This role is critical for establishing robust data governance frameworks that align with international standards while addressing local regulatory requirements. The Data Governance Specialist will lead initiatives to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across PwC Cameroon’s operations and client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data compliance with GDPR, local data protection laws, and industry standards.
- Conduct audits of data management practices to identify risks and recommend improvements.
- Design training programs to enhance data literacy and governance awareness among staff.
- Monitor emerging trends in data governance and cybersecurity to maintain competitive advantage.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in data governance, risk management, or compliance roles.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, Cameroon Data Protection Act).
- Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Master’s Degree or certifications (e.g., CDP, CGEIT) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years in data governance, compliance, or IT risk management.
- Experience working in multicultural environments or international organizations.
Salary
1,200,000 – 1,800,000 XAF per month, commensurate with experience.
